The Gateway to Liberty

There was a brilliant exchange between David Horowitz and Glenn Beck that had to have been the most spot-on assessment of the new Democrat party, the liberal/secular progressive agenda, and their oppression of those individuals whom they claim to represent.

His advice for the millions of now awakening citizenry is to work at undoing the false premises espoused by the socialist progressives. Their social engineering plans have formed a tyrannical relationship between themselves and those who are in most need of the liberating principles found in our Constitution. Recall the poem engraved within the Statue of Liberty, "The New Colossus". The great principles upon which we thrive as a nation are designed for the same people who arrive as huddled masses yearning to breathe free. --JD

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" Emma Lazarus, 1883
